Today we caught up with Bye Bye Plastic's Sustainability Consultant, Pam Pincheira, to bring you the beats that keep her dancing towards a plastic-free future!
Hey Pam! You have over 10 years working as a Sustainability Consultant. Give us a track that keeps you focused when preparing plans for earth-conscious festivals and eventsÂ
Moby - 'Amb 23-1'
While working, I use frequencies that enhance my concentration and help me stay focused on projects. I get distracted easily, but I’m working on it through piano lessons and sport.
You’re currently based in the beautiful city of Barcelona! What track captures the happiest memories from your time in SpainÂ
Born in Santiago, Chile, I've been calling Barcelona home for the past 16 years. My background is in audiovisual studies, but the game-changer for me was the Viña del Mar Festival in 2003. It’s one of the biggest festivals in South America and that experience really inspired me and shifted my focus from TV to festivals.
Right now, I’m working as an impact manager for MUT and Giant Cookie agencies. I help production teams make their projects more sustainable by cutting down carbon footprints and tracking emissions. I gather all the data for ESG measurements to make a positive difference in the creative industry.
Since 2009, I’ve been blending culture and sustainability, diving into projects like Drap-Art, Posidonia Green Festival, Global Eco Forum, and Own Spirit Festival. Alongside my role as a producer, I’ve implemented sustainability plans that have helped me build both experience and a network.
Glove Party has been a fixture in Barcelona for the past 10 years, held in various clubs across the city, and has become an icon of electro and Italo disco music. What sets it apart from other parties is the spirit of unity that permeates each event, bringing together organizers and attendees alike to create an absolutely magical atmosphere.
I always enjoy great moments with my friends there.
From club nights to festivals, tell us about your best live music memory
Undo - 'Good Times'
I met this artist at my last birthday party, which I celebrated at an AMEBA PARTY (Association Music Electronic Barcelona) event. His live performance shook the dance floor.
I am grateful to be able to balance my career with motherhood in all the projects I've been involved in. My 11-year-old son is my favourite assistant and always tops the guest list at daytime events. Once, he wanted to bring his bed to the main dance floor haha...he wanted to dance, he wanted to party!
Gorillaz - 'Feel Good Inc'
I also really enjoyed Gorillaz's live performance at Primavera Sound 2022, this song with De La Soul has been epic.
Give us a track that inspires you creatively   Â
When I dance and sing, that’s when ideas start flowing. Since I saw their live performance in Chile in 2004 when I was 22 years old, The Chemical Brothers have been one of the artists that inspired me to pursue a career in the music industry.
Name a track that connects you to nature
DJ Raff - 'Ancestros'
The recent album released by DJ Raff (Chile) connects me with nature, my own nature, my origins, and my ancestors.
Life in the Bye Bye Plastic ecosystem can get pretty hectic! Give us a track that helps you unwind
Portico Quartet - 'Prickly Pear'
If you move or dance while breathing and smiling, it enhances the effect.
What track could keep you dancing all night?Â
Bawrut - 'What Is Dance'
A track from an Eco-Rider artist you have your eye onÂ
Peggy Gou - 'Your Art'
If you were abandoned forever on a desert island, what’s the one track you’d choose to take? Â
Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 ft Damian Marley - 'Dey'
I will never get tired of Afrobeat because of its fusion of genres and the diverse musical instruments.
And finally...name a track that gives you hope for the future of the #PlasticFreeParty 💚
Electric Steve - 'Weri Weri'
