More than selectors, artists are public figures with a huge amount of influence. We thought, why not use that influence and be the catalyst for change? DJs have a strong social presence and a loud voice, but what they lack is time, guidance, support and a trusted initiative to get behind.
This is what Bye Bye Plastic is alleviating and at the same time, creating a positive social movement so we can all ride the tide together. The genesis of dance music culture was about community, and we’re reigniting this feeling to shape the future of this scene into one that’s a little kinder to the planet — but just as fun.
