Is the mountain of plastic cups and water bottles ruining your dancefloor vibe? What if we told you, investing in the music industry's future was possible? Well it is and we at Bye Bye Plastic are creating the #plasticfreeparty movement! Let’s make it official and share our common goal to make the #plasticfreeparty a reality by fundraising for your event.
We initiated the movement with the most influential figures: the DJs.
About 1.5000 international DJs from the likes of Annie Mac to Sven Väth, Patrick Topping to Tale Of Us, are now using our Eco Rider to insist on a DJ Booth and event free of single-use plastic. Today, we are taking this to the next level, empowering clubs, festivals and promoters to make the right, permanent plastic-free choices. For today, and for tomorrow.
The current Covid-19 situation is a game changer for the world, the industry, and the F(o)undation.
The entire scene is on pause just now, struggling for survival.
But this dark time provides us with an opportunity to relaunch our industry on a stronger, in a more sustainable way. Those of us already working towards sustainable development should be enabled to keep on without looking back, and those who were not yet ready to change can be offered practical ways to join us, and re-build to last, post-covid times.
This is why, even more so now, we keep on urging our industry to adopt uncompromisingly, environmentally healthy alternatives. From reusables, to truly compostable plant-based materials, we always ground our approach on circular system thinking. Who knows, maybe the next festival pavilion could be built from waste and mushrooms…!
We’re also working to provide accurate plastic footprint data to the industry, so we can set collective goals, and track our progresses. In a nutshell, we are preparing the ground for the emergence of a renewed, plastic-free event culture!
